The 2019-2020 has kicked off in Grand fashion, with goals, new ideas and new opportunities for service. I am so honored to serve with each of you as we strive for serving others in so many different ways. This new year marks a NEW dawn for ROTARY – we are more flexible in structure of meetings, schedules, and membership types. Membership is key this year: we need quality members who have servant hearts and want to join us on the journey of helping others. Foundation giving has never been more important, and even though we have only two countries left in our fight to eradicate Polio, those two locales are the most challenging.
To help us in our quest, the RI Board of Trustees has given us another match; with Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, now every dollar that you donate to Polio results in $4 donated to the cause. Now that’s math that works… so please consider “upping” your giving to the Foundation and especially End Polio Now. 5810 has always been a leader in Service – I love what each club already does. We have some new projects that we are working on that many clubs may want to partner together. More information will be released on these shortly.
I can’t wait to visit each club and hear about the things you have planned during the year. I look forward to sharing with you some service projects and some FUN events that we can all do together. I want to thank all who have taken a Leadership Role- Club Presidents and Officers, District Chairs, Assistant Governors, district officers- this organization does not work without your spirit, enthusiasm and time dedicated to Rotary. I look forward to serving with you; thanks for the opportunity.
